Executive Director of PET interviewed on WWTN Walter Jewell, executive director of Professional Educators of Tennessee, PET, was interviewed by Michael DelGiorno for his show on 99.7 FM, WWTN, Nashville, TN, on August 25, 2009. Their topic of discussion covered some of the main issues concerning teachers in Tennessee, especially the fact that most teachers don't know they have a choice...they don't have to join the "union" when they are hired on to teach. Michael and Walter also talked about the history of educational associations and the union, explaining why PET was established almost 20 years ago and why it is more important now than ever before that teachers be made aware of their right to choose which organization they want to belong to.
